State of INFOCOM May 2013
In the few short weeks I have been assigned as COINFOCOM, I have been busy. Currently I’m trying to fill several key staff positions in INFOCOM. If you or If you know anyone who has the skills required to fill a vacant position, please encourage them to join the team, there’s still time.
We are continuing to improve the SFMC website with additional features. I have had a few requests and suggestions from members of the Corps for additional items to be added. I’m compiling a list and once we have a full staff we will discuss, prioritize and set a project plan in motion with time lines to complete each item on the list. The website isn’t the only area we will be striving to improve once our vacant staff positions are filled and the new staff members become familiar with their new duties, we will be able to address these open issues.
As mentioned above we are looking to fill the following INFOCOM vacant staff positions.
DCOINFOCOM, Web team and the G-3 Publications Officer. I have posted the requirements for each position so I will not duplicate that information here. If you are interested in any of the open staff position or have any questions please contact me at infocom@sfi-sfmc.org.
With IC coming up in a few months, I want to request submissions for the Communications Achievement award. The COINFOCOM issues this award. If you have accomplished something you feel qualifies you for this award or if you know somebody who has done something that you think qualifies that person for this award, please submit your request. Submissions can be made for several different areas. Such as designing a website or publishing a newsletter, writing a story, making a video. Some might think their work wasn’t good enough or significant enough to qualify for this award. Let me just say, I’ll be the judge of that. As they say on TV you can’t win if you don’t enter.
In closing, INFOCOM has some work to do and I look forward to getting this work completed.
Thank you,
BGEN Mark “Slayer” Anderson
Commanding Officer, Information Command (COINFOCOM)
