State of INFOCOM June 2013
As we are continuing our work addressing issues and improving the functions of INFOCOM, we are still missing some key staff positions. I’m going to reopen the application process until 11:59 PM July 31st for the following staff positions.
G-3 Publications Officer.
This Marine is charged with overseeing the creation and revisions to any publications of the SFMC in order to generate a uniform look and appearance for all such documents. This Marine will oversee the creation and distribution of a standard template for all SFMC publications and assist the various commands as needed in order to help them get their official SFMC documents into the proper format for release to the membership.
Candidates for the position of G-3 Publications Officer should meet the following criteria: (1) have passed OTS (OCC is recommended); (2) have passed PD-10 and PD-20 from the SFMCA; and (3) be a member of STARFLEET, TISTFA in good standing. It is highly recommended that this Marine also have some experience in graphic design (either professional or amateur) that would translate into direct experience helpful in this post as well as access to the necessary programs for the task.
INFOCOM Web Team
This group is tasked with the responsibility of creating and maintaining the SFMC website. These individuals work on developing, updating, and maintain various SFMC web sites and other web presences.
For the Web Team position. You *MUST* Have some HTML5/CSS/PHP experience.
If you are interested in any of the open staff position or have any questions please contact me at infocom@sfi-sfmc.org.
Just a quick reminder, IC is just around the corner, if you have someone you feel deserves the Communications Achievement award please submit their name and accomplishments for consideration to infocom@sfi-sfmc.org.
I have had a few requests for additions to the SFMC website. One is to add an archive for the AODE and I’m looking into adding the photo section back to the website. I hope by the next report I will have additional information and projected time for completion on these projects.
