Greetings Marines,
Luckily this year is leap year so I got an extra day. I just got back yesterday from the Region 2 Summit in Navarre Florida. I always have a good time seeing friends that I usually see once a year and meeting new ones. It was quite a drive from Tampa but I made it back in one piece despite the best efforts of some of the drivers I encountered on my way there and back.
I made a stop by the Air Force Armament Museum next to Eglin Air Force Base on my way up to Summit on Friday. They have a very impressive collection. If you are ever in that area, it is well worth the stop. I took a lot of pictures and I hope to get them posted to the USS Victorious website as soon as I can.
I assisted with the Second Brigade muster and handed out awards that the second Brigade marines had earned over the last year. That is always one of the best thing I like to do is to recognize deserving Marines for their efforts in supporting their local units, chapters, Regions and the SFMC as a whole.
In closing, this is where I usually put the pingdom status. As of January 28th 2016 pingdom no longer offers this free service. I’m going to check and see if I can find a no costs replacement service.
