State of FORCECOM March 2022
FORCECOM is chugging along. New certificates are being generated for the award changes, and going out. We are eagerly looking forward to processing the first Gallantry level awards! Let’s speak on those for a moment – Unit OIC’s can award them, just as they can the Leader’s Commendation. Just fill out the award form (https://sfmc.sfi.org/submit-an-award/), and if you are the Unit OIC – check the box that states you are the award Authority. Boom – we make the certificate and send it out! All Gallantry level awards will also be sent on to the respective Brigade OIC. If the initial write up for the Gallantry award is good, then they have all they need to process for Valor level consideration. If not, they know who to talk to. The Brigades have until 15 May to submit all Valor award winners to FORCECOM, for consideration at the Honor level – so listen to your Brigade commanders for when due dates to them are!
This means that there are MORE options for the Unit OIC’s, and (in hopes) more and better nominations hitting the Brigades for Valor nominations.
We are also moving forward on the OPS side. The First Brigade challenge awards for the 3BDE FTX are going to hit soon, with more on the way. Any marine can participate – ftx.3bde.org. If you play a game with a fellow SFMC member, it counts – period.
We will also have a special operation, to support the Virtual IC – so keep an eye out for those to drop.
We may also have some data calls, to see how and what uniform items Marines are using, enjoying, or needing.
I am looking for Brigade OIC’s for the following Brigades:
4BDE
6BDE
10BDE
17BDE
You can send your resume to me directly (coforcecom@sfi-sfmc.org) – I will start interviews for each next week (they have been previously listed on the HR site, but HR is having a hard time getting me the applications it seems.
