State of FORCECOM November 2015
Good Day Marines,
My apologies for this being the last minute. There’s something about single digit temps that make me want to hole up in bed with a warm drink and a warm cat.
Awards: Anyone can nominate someone for an award – forms are available @ https://www.sfi-sfmc.org/awards.php The individual making the nomination should receive an email copy of their online form letting them know the form went through. If you don’t get the email, please report it to me ASAP so the problem can be forward to the correct individuals. As previously mentioned if it is a nomination for a Brigade level award, also let your BDE OIC know ASAP.
I have copies of the nomination forms in document format and can send them to you as needed.
Commandant’s Campaign Award: The cycle for the CCA is 1 Jan 2015 – 31 Dec 2015 so this is a good time to start collecting your information to submit to your BDE OIC for the Feb 2016 report. Remember, the activities per-authorized for the CCA are Toys for Tots, the Special Olympics and the Sar’ Major’s March for the Disabled. You must have donated at least
4 hours of your time to one of these activities to be considered. We need the following information: your name and rank, your SCC#, the activity you were involved in, where that activity took place, what you did for that activity and how much time you spent doing it. Don’t wait until the last minute. Start on this now.
Brigade Staffing: There have also been some changes in the Brigade Command structure since last we’ve talked.
BDR Tom King will be stepping down as 5th Brigade OIC the first of the year as well as LTC Jason Garrett of the 20th Brigade. I want to thank both of them for having taken on these duties and wish them the best for the new year. Details for the application process can be found on the SFMC Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/3275293079/ as well as the SFI and SFMC email lists. You can also contact me directly at seticat @ cableone dot net for a copy. The application window closes on
11 Dec 2015 so if you are interested, please contact me.
Database Issues: There are still a few ongoing problems showing up as to the numbers the database is showing for the number of units in a brigade or the number of members in a unit. This is being addressed by the Code Masters even as I type.
We’re also aware of the problem with the same individual showing up as assigned to a unit and also listed as ‘unassigned’. This is something I can ‘usually’ fix at my level so if you find someone being listed in two places at once, please email me and I’ll see what I can get done.
And as always, if you’ve got questions, remember to use your chain of command. Everyone from your Unit OIC up to the members of the General Staff are here to help you. Just run your thoughts and concerns up the chain and we’ll help you out.
Keep it safe out there and be nice to each other..
Stand Easy, Marines.
