State of TRACOM – March 2020
t has been a busy month in TRACOM.
First, I would like to welcome Johnathan Wilson to the Infantry branch. He will serve as the SFMC Infantry Branch Director. Michael Timko will be the assistant director. Both are working hard to bring the Infantry Branch. I look for new items in that branch.
Maritime operations will be headed by Michael Denman. I look forward to new improvements in this branch. We have been without a lead for a long time. I look forward to seeing great things in his tenure.
Mecha, where to begin. Mecha has been a long awaited and one of the biggest Branch’s in the SFMC Academy. Our Director is working hard to bring this to light. He is currently revising course materials and looking for new designs and SFMC Originals to make this branch unique to SFMCA. He will be working to bring this to everyone. I ask that everyone, be patient. But at the same time, I know it is one of our biggest hot topics to bring to the forefront. The courses and materials will go through the proofing process, just like any of our other courses.
I am additionally looking at the other branches and reviewing materials and Exams for them. I want to get all the updates and revisions of topics for the current SFMC world. Medical branch is working on revisions in the medical branch also.
Academy grades currently are not being entered in the Database. I apologize, but I do not have a timeline for when the grades will be updated in the database. We currently keep spreadsheets that we can look at and view grades. I do not have an estimated timeline on when grades will be entered into the database. Ribbons and devices will not be updated into the database at this time. I will follow up with Senior leadership on a plan for how we can update or load them into the database. However, be advised, that for devices and ribbons can be verified by the courses that are completed.
Congratulations to the following Graduates of the SFMC Marine basic Course
Kendall Caminiti
Ronald Gray
Hector Gutierrez
I will have more to follow in the upcoming month
